CYUT enters QS World University Rankings for the first time
The renowned Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2024 featured 1,500 top-tier higher education institutions, including twenty-seven universities in Taiwan. CYUT is honored to be the only listed private technological university, demonstrating its international competitiveness.
This year, the QS World University Rankings introduced three new indicators to reflect students’ changing concerns and the growing missions of higher education institutions: sustainability, graduate employability, and international research collaboration. The rankings analyzed millions of academic papers and surveyed expert opinions of academic faculty and employers extensively. It is the only ranking of its kind to highlight employability and sustainability. CYUT performed exceptionally well in employment outcomes and employer reputation. It is a testament to the hard work in growing student capability to international standards.
Targeting to become a world-class university, CYUT goes all-out in globalization: collaborating with over 640 sister universities, engaging a thousand international students from 20 countries, and recruiting world-class scholars. Apart from the QS Rankings, CYUT has also achieved an impressive list of global recognition, including THE World University Rankings for six years in a row, Impact Rankings, Emerging Economies Rankings, etc.
CYUT acknowledges the importance of nurturing cross-disciplinary talents, offering over 30 cross-subject programs in smart IoT, fintech, green product design, and cross-border e-commerce. It also provides training in digital finance, AI design and application, smart living and technology, and AIoT to boost diversified learning and cross-disciplinary skills. With subsidies from the Ministry of Education and internal funding, CYUT allocates more than NT$100 million in student scholarships annually and initiates more than 50 innovative courses to nurture quality Generation Z.
